The Circle of Magi
Built on the site of the Ordo Templi Orientis, which was destroyed in the aftermath of the war, the Circle of Magi is the central establishment for magic practitioners who are not priests. Located in the Bywater district of New Orleans, the Circle of Magi lacks the political muscle of The Queen’s Circle and is viewed with some suspicion by most of the locals. It also doesn’t help that trying to organize the increasingly ecclectic magic users of the region is akin to trying to herd feral cats. Archmage Harvard Dee tries to bring some order to the chaos in an attempt to bring respect to the Circle.
Despite a pronounced lack of discipline among the membership, magic users still find the Circle of Magi a useful means of acquiring mystical knowledge. And the Circle has slowly begun to accumulate wealth as residents secretly seek out magical aid to resolve everything from physical ailments to squabbles with neighbors. The Circle is often willing to discreetly interfere on a client’s behalf in order to curry favor with influential residents.
